Referral programme
Referral programme terms
Last updated: 8 June 2026
These terms govern the LetsFile referral programme (the "Programme"). The Programme is operated by LetsFile Limited ("we", "us"). By participating you agree to these terms. These terms are in addition to our main terms of service and privacy policy.
1. Eligibility
- You must hold a LetsFile referral account. Existing LetsFile customers are auto-enrolled on the date of their first filed return; professional partners can request a link directly. Your personal link and dashboard appear at
app.letsfile.co.uk/account/referrals. - You must be aged 18 or over and resident in the UK.
- Employees of LetsFile Limited, their immediate family, and contractors paid by LetsFile are not eligible to earn referral rewards.
2. Reward structure
- Referee discount: 20% off the standard price of the referee's CGT property filing, applied automatically at checkout when they arrive through a valid referral link.
- Referrer reward: 20% of the amount the referee actually pays (i.e. 20% of the price after their discount) for each filed CGT return. For example, on a Reviewed return (list price £199) the referee pays £159.20 and the referrer earns £31.84.
- One-off filings: the Programme applies to CGT property filings (DIY, Reviewed and Rush). The referrer earns 20% of the amount paid for each filed return.
- Subscription products: for subscription products, the referrer earns 20% of the referee's first payment only. Renewals and all subsequent payments do not earn any further reward.
- Attribution: the referral link in effect when the referee buys is the one credited. Once a customer is attributed to a referrer, that attribution is fixed; a later referral link does not transfer that customer's existing or future purchases to a different referrer.
- Only one discount applies per purchase. The referral discount cannot be combined with other promotional codes or discounts.
3. Payout
- Rewards are held for 30 days after the qualifying event: for a filing, after the referee's return is filed with HMRC; for a subscription, after the referee's first payment. This covers the standard amendment and refund window. After the hold, the reward moves to your payable balance.
- Payouts are made by bank transfer to a UK bank account. You provide your account details once in your dashboard (they are stored encrypted) and request a payout when you have a cleared balance. Payouts are processed in batches.
- If a referee's return is refunded, cancelled, or charged back, the corresponding reward is reversed. Where a reversed reward has already been paid out, we may recover the amount from your future balance or by other lawful means.
4. Prohibited conduct
The following will void unpaid rewards and may result in termination:
- Self-referral: Referring yourself, members of your household, or accounts that share an email address, payment instrument fingerprint, or device identifier with the referrer.
- Paid search on LetsFile brand keywords: Bidding on "LetsFile" or close variants in Google Ads, Bing Ads, or any paid search platform.
- Incentivised traffic: Cashback sites, "get paid to" sites, reward sites, or any arrangement where the referee receives additional consideration beyond the published 20% discount.
- Spam: Unsolicited email or SMS, forum spam, social-media spam, or any conduct prohibited by PECR / UK GDPR.
- Misrepresentation: Posing as LetsFile, claiming false price promises, or impersonating a tax adviser.
- Trademark or domain misuse: Registering domains containing "letsfile" or close variants, or using our trademarks in a way that suggests an agency or partnership relationship that does not exist.
5. Tax responsibility
Referral rewards may be taxable income in your hands. We do not deduct tax at source. You are responsible for declaring and paying any income tax, National Insurance, or other tax due on rewards received. If you are in doubt, speak to a tax adviser. LetsFile will issue an annual summary of rewards paid on request.
6. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your participation in the Programme at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have breached these terms, engaged in fraud, or brought the LetsFile name into disrepute. On termination, any unpaid rewards earned in breach of these terms are forfeit. Rewards earned in good faith before the breach will be paid out at the next scheduled batch.
7. Changes to the Programme
We may change the reward percentage, the eligible products, or close the Programme entirely with 30 days' notice (email to your registered address). Rewards already earned but not yet paid will be honoured at the rates in force on the day the referred filing was completed.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
